01Is Silestone the same as quartz?
Silestone is Cosentino’s branded mineral surface. Current products combine premium minerals and recycled materials using Hybriq+ technology and are described by Cosentino as low-silica mineral surfaces. It is commonly discussed alongside engineered quartz, but the current product description and silica classification should come from the specific colour’s technical documentation.
02How much do Silestone countertops cost in Vancouver?
Installed pricing depends on colour group, slab yield, thickness, edge profile, cutouts, backsplash coverage, access and seam planning. The most accurate quote follows a drawing or site measure and confirmation of current slab availability.
03Can Silestone be used behind a gas cooktop?
Selected vertical applications may be possible, but clearances, heat exposure, appliance specifications and local code must be reviewed. We confirm the design with the fabricator and appliance documentation before approving the installation.
04How long does countertop installation take?
Most installations are completed in one visit after fabrication. The total schedule includes colour selection, cabinet readiness, digital templating, fabrication and installation. Exact lead time depends on material availability and project complexity.
05Do I need to seal Silestone?
Silestone’s low-porosity surface does not require the periodic sealing commonly associated with many natural stones. Follow Cosentino’s care guidance for the selected finish.
06Can you install Silestone on existing cabinets?
Yes, when the cabinets are structurally sound, adequately supported, level and suitable for the planned surface. We assess the boxes, layout and access before templating. Cabinet modifications may be required for new sinks, cooktops or heavier design details.
07Can I see the actual slab before fabrication?
We strongly recommend approving the physical sample and, when possible, reviewing the actual slab for directional or heavily veined designs. Screen colours are only a guide and cannot reproduce exact tone, movement or sheen.
